If your client will only use the mark in Finland, a national trademark registration is a fair and inexpensive alternative to protecting the mark. The registration process takes approximately two months. A registered trademark in Finland is valid for 10 years and can be renewed for subsequent periods of ten years.
If you are considering trademark protection also in another EU country, then an EU trademark registration may be a more cost-effective alternative.
Our service includes:
- Drafting and filing of the trademark application
- Claiming priority
- Checking and reporting publication
- Preliminary reporting and advice on one office action or one opposition filed against the application
- Checking and forwarding Certificate of Registration
The price does not include drafting and checking of the list of goods or services, or any measures that are required if the registration authorities refuse to register the sign or some other party objects to the registration of the sign. In such situations arise, we will provide a quotation for the necessary measures.
After ordering the product, we will contact you by email and ask which mark you wish to register, if convention priority should be claimed from an earlier trademark filing and what goods/services the application should cover. We advise to use good and service items listed in the Harmonized Database (HDB) of the TMclass service as those will be automatically accepted by the Finnish Patent Office.
We strongly recommend purchasing a Trademark protection consultation service (below), if you are unsure of the format in which your trademark should be registered or of the goods and/or services, or if you need other consultation relating to your trademark.
If your application contains more than one trademark class, select the necessary additional class fees. Alternatively, if you purchase the aforementioned trademark protection consultation add-on service, you do not have to decide at this stage how many classes your application covers. Instead, we will give you a recommendation and ask you to pay the additional official fees that will be required.
